Murph had set up several challenges. The first being to hack into a program that had several layers of security. They would have to see how far she got. After that there was a couple of blueprints of items to see if she would be able to put them together. Next there were a couple of items that she would have to put together that didn't have a blueprint. He had even set up a computer program that would help him test her knowledge of chemicals and would help her learn. It allowed her to mix virtual chemicals and the computer would simulate the response, in detail. There were also several other tests to test her knowledge of physics and biology.

Dylan arrived just after midday, having woken up, spent a few hours with her mates then travelled to Wolverhampton (This travelling-by-bus was depleting her pocket money. Time for her to learn to walk) - and, of course, she was in a similar skirt to the previous day.
"Hobo Reed?" she called out as she entered, then caught sight of everything in the lab. "Eh?"

"Aye. Promised ya those test, didn' I?" He flicked some ashes into one of the ashtray's in his part of the lab that was looking slightly less messy itself. He still had tools and parts scattered laying willy nilly in the lab, but they were doing it and what seemed to be assigned piles now. Also his projects were stored away. "Figured ya'd want to start with yer hacking skills. So this program'll tell me how well ya'll be able to do." He stated as he pointed her to her computer. "Yer free to install yer own hacking programs to help ya with it."

Dylan frowned slightly and went over to the computer. She rolled her eyes. "Alright, then," she allowed, pulling up a chair, then added plainly, "But if you bother me while I do this, I will kick you where it hurts."

"Whatevs," Dylan sighed as she got to work. The first few levels were easy enough to get through and she barely had to think; after that, it got a little more tricky and she had to focus on what she was doing, mostly using backdoors and a couple of scripts, to get through them. By level thirteen, she was done - there was no way she could think of to move forward and she'd tried everything. "Fuck."

Murph was whistling as he turned the device on...for now it showed a light that formed a blurry image of himself. Obviously it would need a lot of work before it was ready.

Dylan spun around in her seat to tell Murphy she honestly had no idea what to do and blinked at the hologram. "Reed, you've changed!" she exclaimed without thinking then caught sight of the real Murphy. "... Alright, we don't need two hobos, thanks."

"Cigarette was a good touch," Dylan said innocently. "But, uh, yeah. M'stuck," she mumbled.

"How far did ya get?" He asked as he walked closer. Tapping some excess ashes into an ashtray along the way.

"Thirteen," Dylan said, which felt unlucky, even when hanging out with a shamrock-wielding leprechaun.

Dylan looked mildly surprised at having enough skill to hack into NASA, if she so wished, but the mention of science-that-sounded-like-a-school-lesson made her blink. "They all sound so fun," she said sarcastically. "But I'll go electronics, I guess."

"All righ'. Here ya go. First are some projects wit' blue prints. Then withou'. I'll leave ya to it." He said as he walked her to the right workbench and showed her the blue prints he had set up.

"Aye. First yeh can follow the blue prints. Then are some assignments ye'll have to figure out yerself what is needed to make it happen." Murph pointed to the stuff on the bench. "Yeh should have everythin' ya need on there."

Dylan sighed and then nodded, first looking over the blueprints to see what she was making in the first place and then getting to work.

Dylan worked her way through the various blueprints, only pausing when the unthinkable happened - she chipped a nail, which basically meant she'd have to rip all her nails off and redo them tomorrow, whilst mentally cursing all leprechauns. She worked slower when she didn't have the blueprints, unsure what everything was supposed to do.
