Any ranks or roles mentioned below that are filled by unnamed people (NPCs), with the exception of organisation leaders, are free to be taken as characters unless it is said otherwise. (Ask for further information).Society for the Protection of Innocence without Exception and with Sincerity Aka S.P.I.E.S In the world of secret and secure undercover operations, there are two organisations that are clashing with swords drawn. Metaphorically speaking, of course – they use guns these days. These two organisations are known as Jericho and Valkyrie and though they are very similar, they rival each other to the point of wanting the other to be wiped out. Nothing about these organisations is known to anyone but those within them and the Prime Minister. S.P.I.E.S was the original organisation, formed by Julia Theoborne and Harrison Riley in the late 19th century. They operated as body guards for VIPs, specifically the Prime Minister and MPs. They started to recruit people that showed exceptional skills, though S.P.I.E.S stayed a secret to practically everyone. Even the President of the US didn’t know about them until they were drafted to protect him on one of his visits to England. In the mid-1920’s, however, Julia started to get greedy, and on one of their missions, she held her ward hostage. She got away with two-thousand pounds and wasn’t seen again until the second world war, when she emerged as the leader of Valkyrie, her daughter, Dorothy (17), who she’d been pregnant with at the time of her disappearance, was her right-hand-woman, and they rose up against the British Government, obtaining information for the German Nazi’s, for a price of course. Harrison Riley started to reform S.P.I.E.S into what is now known as Jericho, to defend and combat his ex-partner’s plans. As technology advanced, so did the war between Valkyrie and Jericho, each trying to dominate the other, though it was an unspoken rule between them that there was no coverage of either organisation within any sort of media – not even rumors like those surrounding MI5 and MI6. No one outside of their ‘circle’ of members, wards, and sympathizers know about them. However, somewhere near the end of the 20th Century, the leaders of Jericho and Valkyrie went into the shadows. They disappeared off the radar, and though operations from the members went on as normal, tensions started to rise as orders came in from the leaders but no one ever saw them anymore and they never accepted missions themselves. The date is now the 1st of June, 2011, and people are less concerned with who their leader is and where they are, in favour of being more concerned with getting the missions done to the highest standard possible and trying to infiltrate and bring down their opponents. Also, there is a new, unspoken rule – no fights are to be held on School grounds, especially schools where Jericho and/or Valkyrie agents attend; Schools are neutral zones. But what is this tension still lingering between the superiors? It has been quiet between the two institutes, with orders from the leaders coming in too few and far between. People are saying that this is just the calm before the storm, or perhaps the leaders are secretly meeting to try and finally end this ‘war’, or has something else happened and Valkyrie and Jericho have just been abandoned?

Jericho Jericho is the ‘good’ organisation that has forty-five people at present, striving to prevent Valkyrie from carrying out their plans to over throw the government and ‘reform’ the country, as well as upholding a standard of rightness within the community. So far, they’ve succeeded seventy percent of the time, but Valkyrie are too strong to take down completely and while the technicians are constantly working hard to outwit them and gain the upper hand, there have been leaks lately and they’ve become even more guarded with their technology and weapons. Their leader, whose name is currently unknown, has been giving orders for less and less missions that directly go against Valkyrie and some people are starting to get suspicious of things. They have, however, been ordering for more recruits to be found. All new recruits are aged between sixteen and thirty-five for the simple reason of how they can be utilised within the organisation. They could have any kind of background, have any level of physical fitness, or lack thereof, and even any level of education. Jericho will take anyone, and if they lack something, then they will teach them. To be a member, you don’t necessarily need to leave your family or your normal life behind, you just have to be prepared to put the organisation first and accept that sometimes you’re going to need to make some rash excuses to get out of work, school, family meetings, or whatever you’re doing when you’re called in. The base is set in central Wolverhampton, near the shopping centre, beneath the Molineux. To get in, you go round the back of the stadium, which isn’t otherwise open to the public, and there you’ll find a garage big enough for one car. If you’re on foot, then simply enter through the ‘Fire Exit’ door and go through a second door located at the back. If you’re going by car, then drive into the garage, which will be empty, get out of your car and close the shutter. Once the shutter is closed, stand still and wait for the platform to take your car away and store it in a ‘locker’. Go through the door located at the back. Once you have gone through the door inside the garage, you will enter a room big enough for three people, with another door opposite you, this is actually an elevator, and unless you complete the process following successfully, you’ll be stuck there until someone else comes. If you arrived by car, then there will be a screen on your left with a four digit code on – this is the code of the locker that your car is stored in, so remember it. To get through the door and into Jericho, you need to go through a full body scan, a retina scan, a hand scan and voice recognition before the lift will take you down. Don’t try to cheat the system and sneak someone in because there are cameras and heat sensors, and you won’t get away with it. Similarly, you can enter through any of the four doors located at the north, south, east and west entrances, which take you into a room almost exactly like the one described above, only you need a fingerprint and retina scan to get through the door in the first place. There are several ranks and roles within Jericho, as well as mission levels, the ranks being described below and roles and mission levels will be described later. Ranks: Please note: These ranks include Technicians, Trainers, Colour leaders, Mission controllers, and Weapon Experts. White – The highest rank you can achieve. It is very difficult to become a White badge, impossible, some say. You have to be specifically chosen by the leader of your society after successfully completing a series of hard missions. There are currently six White badges. The current Titled White badge is White Knight (Blaine Dapperman).Black – Though it is not impossible to gain your Black badge, it is still easier said than done, though a White badge can promote you and present you with you Black badge. There are currently seven Black badges. The current Titled Black badge is Black Rose (Haylee Martins).Violet – A step down from Black and a step up from Red. You’re not the best, but you’re definitely not the worst. Violet badges get more of a choice of missions, though it just gets harder from here on out. There are currently nine Violet badges. The current Titled Violet badge is _____________.Red – The most popular rank and the easiest to reach, as all you have to do is pass the tests and the first level of training. A lot of people are happy to just stay as a Red badge and do the easier missions as they come in, though some want to strive to be something better and take harder missions that will get them promotes faster. There are currently eighteen Red badges. The current Titled Red badge is Red Queen (Emma Lovelace).Blue – If you have a Blue badge then you’re a new recruit going through the initiation tests and the first level of training. You could remain a Blue badge for as little as a week, and only get the easiest of missions. It’s during your time as a Blue badge that you chose your role(s) within Jericho. No one is a titled blue badge, but one of the White badges oversees the development of this rank for a year at a time. There are currently five Blue badges that are just about to start their training. The current overseer of the Blue badges is ____________.

Valkyrie Started in the middle of the Second World War in order to provide information for the Nazi’s on infiltrating the English Government, they flourished in committing criminal acts even after the war ended and they failed to destroy the government. Members of Valkyrie generally have a dislike to the government and the way that we are governed, with all the laws and rules they put down for us to live by. Some, however, are dragged in through various reasons, some being debts to people within the organisation that otherwise can’t be repaid, being forced/pressured into agreeing to join by family, looking for immunity from the law, or hiding from Jericho. There is a degree of respect within the ranks – you have your place within Valkyrie, so keep to it, and anyone that steps out of line will be punished accordingly. They don’t go around trying to dictate people, though – if someone doesn’t want to join, then unless they’re to become an informant originally from Jericho, then they don’t force them into joining and leave them alone. They’re big on the freedom, thing, though they know that sometimes, sacrifices must be made for the greater good. However, a couple of agents are rather sly and bend the rules to suit their own means, practically doing anything they wish to while marginally getting away with it. Everyone generally sees Valkyrie as the underdog, because they always seem to be on the losing side, but it’s mostly because they don’t have as many people as Jericho. There are only thirty-two operatives within Valkyrie, including three informants that are originally from Jericho. The base is located beneath the Bull Ring shopping centre, in Birmingham – the Bull Ring being built on top of the complex to create a steady income for the society. To get to it, you could enter through one of two doors located inside the Bullring shopping centre, both of which take you into an elevator where you have a full-body scan carried out, and a retina scan, before it will take you down. If you don’t want to take either of these ways, then you must go through the central car park and enter through the allocated door, there. Just as with Jericho, there are ranks and roles, as well as mission levels. They’re generally the same as in Jericho (they were formed by a couple, and they had most of the same ideas). Ranks: Please note: These ranks include Technicians, Trainers, Colour leaders, Mission controllers, and Weapon Experts. White – The highest rank you can achieve. It is very difficult to become a White badge, impossible, almost. You have to be voted in by the other whites and colour leaders after successfully completing a series of hard missions. There are currently three White badges. The current Titled White badge is ________________.Black – Though it is not impossible to gain your Black badge, it is still easier said than done, though a White badge can promote you and present you with you Black badge. There are currently five Black badges. The current Titled Black badge is ___________.Violet – A step down from Black and a step up from Red. You’re not the best, but you’re definitely not the worst. Violet badges get more of a choice of missions, though it just gets harder from here on out, as your name will be more well known to Jericho and they’ll be hunting you more specifically. There are currently eight Violet badges. There are currently fourteen Red badges. The current Titled Red badge is ____________.Blue – If you have a Blue badge then you’re a new recruit going through the initiation tests and the first level of training. You could remain a Blue badge for as little as a week, and only get the easiest of missions. It’s during your time as a Blue badge that you chose your role(s) within Valkyrie. No one is a titled blue badge, but one of the Red badges oversees the development of this rank for as long as they’re not promoted. There are currently two Blue badges that are just about to start their training. The current overseer of the Blue badges is ____________.

Roles: Please note: These are in no particular order and that each role is just as important as the next Member – You’re just a regular member carrying out missions and trying to climb through the ranks. Titled Member – Also known as a Colour leader, or Titled badge, you are the best of your rank and are at the same level as the rank above, though for some reason, either your own refusal of promotion, or the choice of the superiors, you have not been promoted. You are in charge of the members of your rank and being sure that no one is over worked or stepping out of line. As the name suggests, you have a ‘title’ that goes after your rank colour, that you choose upon your inter-rank promotion. (e.g. The current Black leader of Jericho has chosen to be called Black Rose) Technician – You are in charge of everything that is computer and technology based, developing new firewalls to protect the organisations databases, researching information on new recruits, creating new technology, gadgets and weapons for members to use on missions, watching over the security systems of the actual buildings being utilized or even protected by the organisation. You are a large part of the organisations defence and attack. Most of the time you’ll be stuck on the base, but sometimes you may be sent out into the field to back up an operative on their mission, from performing basic surveillance operations to scoping a building for bugs and/or hidden security devices. Technician’s do have ranks, but you’re not promoted on the amount/level of missions that you carry out successfully, you gain new badges depending on your skill and level of intellect. Badges for Technicians are merely a formality, very few people take notice of those and care more about how long you’ve been working there and how good you are. Weapon Expert – As the name says, you are an expert of weapons. You are the first person that will handle new weapons and technology developed by the Technicians, being their Guinea pig to test them, though until the prototypes are as complete as they can be without being tested in a missions, the technology will never leave the room it was created in. Other than this, you’re a normal member and take missions just like everyone else, though you also have more insurance and coverage in the cases of using prototype weapons and technology in missions. You can be from any rank, starting from Blue. Mission Controller – You can only be a Mission controller if you’re a White badge, Black badge, or Violet Titled badge. You are the one that takes the orders, requests, and missions coming in from the Leader, VIPs, or the government, and allocate them the appropriate Level and call in someone to carry out the mission as soon as possible. To aid in levelling missions correctly, there are various people that form the ethics committee, though they, themselves, are a part of Jericho. Valkyrie does not have an ethics committee. Trainer – You’re the one that trains those of lower ranks, mostly Blues and Reds. You are trusted with their safety while they’re in your care, and all Trainers, at some point, are given a brand new recruit to train up to Red rank. Domestic Staff – Your jobs are to cook food for those in the mess hall, clean the more open places (i.e. mess hall, kitchen, some apartments, computer room, gym, training hall, weapons testing observation room, the hallways and garage), fix any electrical/plumbing problems, buy any new regular furniture that might be needed (e.g. tables, chairs, kitchen appliances). It might not sound very appealing or all that hard, but you are relied on by everyone and trusted not to leak any information, and even though you can take as many breaks as you want (so long as the work is done), there is a lot of pressure because more can go wrong than you may think. VIP/Sponsor/Landowner – You are one of the few outsiders to know about Jericho and/or Valkyrie and you are either under their protection, providing money in the form of random ‘charitable’ donations, monthly/annual agreed sums of money, or upon request, or you are someone that owns the land upon (below) which Jericho or Valkyrie are built and provide a small amount of security. Informant – Sometimes considered the lowest of the low – a rat – a grasser – you’re the one that has double crossed or eve’s dropped on someone to provide Jericho with information about practically anything, from minor crimes that are passed onto the police or appropriate authorities, or dates of planned attacks and/or transgressions being carried out by Valkyrie. You can become an informant without knowing it, or even be bullied into providing information even if you don’t want to.

Mission levels: Please note: These are only rough guide lines and it depends more on your experience and skill than your actual rank as to whether you are allowed to take certain levelled missions. If you’re sent on too easy a mission, it is seen as a punishment for bad performance in a previous mission. S – White – The most difficult or prestigious of missions, for example, protecting the US President would be in this rank (or assassinating him). It may not be a hard mission, or even a high-risked one, but the President is a very important person and you must be a highly trusted, experienced and skilled member to take on such a mission, or any mission of this level. A – Black and White – Protecting minor VIPs, or ‘recovering items’ from Valkyrie/Jericho. Also missions include the infiltration of Valkyrie/Jericho and dealing with people that have compromising information on the organisation. B – Violet and Black – Overseeing security at large events being attended by VIPs, dealing with major terrorist scares, including hostage situations and bomb-disposal. ‘Dealing with’ can have different connotations depending on whether its Jericho or Valkyrie. C – Red and Violet – Dealing with minor terrorist scares, protecting places such as schools, businesses and even shopping centres, for both organisations. Again, ‘dealing with’ can have different meanings (either counteracting them, or creating them). D – Red and Blue – Anything that’s seen as good/bad/important enough to be a mission for Jericho/Valkyrie, but nothing that’s urgent enough to need too skilled or experienced a member and couple possibly used as training. For Jericho these missions can include what’s called a ‘policeable’ mission, such as bank robberies and gun heists, or drug busts, though it all depends on who’s behind these crimes as to whether they’re moved to a higher level, or dropped and left to the police. For Valkyrie they would be minor thefts, planting bugs, creating diversions for a large operation.
